My background is in Fine Art, I studied at Kingston University graduating in 2005.
I trained as a Yoga Teacher qualifying in 2009 and have been teaching since 2007. (Visit website here.)
Based in East London, (mainly Hackney) for around 10 years until Spring 2015, I decided to say goodbye to my clients, flat and London to go on a personal journey and walked the whole of the French way (775km) of the Camino De Santiago, across Northern Spain. I also went to Denmark and spent a fair bit of time volunteering in a shamanic retreat centre in Scotland working in the kitchen cooking vegetarian food, I also took myself to a hut and retreated in a valley to deepen my practice. I worked in another kitchen in England while living in a caravan in a field. I was living on as little as possible in this period. During those 6 months or so I spent a lot of time walking alone in nature, meditating, writing and taking hundreds of photos with a camera I was given as a gift before I left. Taking photos this regularly is only a recent development and exploration.
I then moved back to West Sussex where I was born. I’m enjoying being back by the sea where I grew up and have an even deeper appreciation for.
My main passion in life has always been art. I love film, writing, walking, photography and yoga. Since 2004 I have spent a period each year on retreat to practise yoga and meditation. I do this in order to become quiet, to access an inner stillness by removing distraction. Then I feel I can share and participate more whole heartedly when I return to regular life.
I am presently directing my attention toward my practise as an Artist. For other work I teach yoga and do occasional life modelling.
Being based here was a conscious move to focus more on my work. I am retreating a little working in my own art studio where I also live and allowing things to unfold naturally in this new chapter. Working in an environment that is quieter and slower than the pace of London life while keeping my connection to the city I am so fond of.
